The Plan

So here's whats up. I've put a lot of work into Classic Cars Pro and I've still been getting bad reviews and emails complaining it's a crap app.

So here's the plan,
-Make an internet connection required to view any pictures (pictures will not be downloaded to device anymore)
-Display 'No picture available' icon when no picture is available
-Offer google image search for the missing pictures (will be done without leaving the app)
-Offer google search to get more details on a car (will be done without leaving the app)
-Allow user to save available pictures to the camera role

I'm hoping these changes will bring up the quality of the app by making it clearer on how to see pictures and see and know when pictures are available.

If you have any suggestions for this app, please let me know now while I'm making updates for it. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Post a comment on this blog entry or email me at jjring31@gmail.com.

Scorecard Pro V2.7

This blog entry is mostly just to let you know of everything new in version 2.7 that just came out.

Spades:
There is a new section in the 'Settings' tab for specific game settings. This section was created for the Spades scorecard but will eventually contain other settings for other games in the future. So right now, you can go here to change some common settings for spades. Such as setting the sandbags on or off, changing the number of sandbags, setting low bid on or off, and setting blind low on or off.

Some new games have been added including 'Hand and Foot', more variations of 'Dominos', 'Disc Golf', and 'Golf'.

Hand and Foot
To score for 'Hand and Foot', you enter the total number of points for each section in the corresponding white box for the corresponding team. This scorecard is pretty simple and there is nothing complex behind it. The score is simply calculated by add the numbers in the top 6 boxes and subtracting whatever is in the 7th box.

Dominos:
The 'Dominos' scorecard has now changed to include 'Dominos - 9', 'Dominos - 12', and 'Dominos - 15'. And it has been fixed to include the correct number of hands.

Golf/Disc Golf
Golf and Disc Golf have now been added. This really added a lot to the app. Not only does it have its own unique scorecard, but there is also a new section in the 'Settings' tab to setup golf courses. This will allow you to setup a golf or disc golf course ONCE and reuse it for MULTIPLE games. This way the same course does not have to be setup again for each game. To setup a golf course, go to the 'Settings' tab and click 'Golf Course Setup'. Here you can add a new course by clicking the '+' button in the upper right or edit an existing course by selecting it. When adding a new course, enter in the course name and select whether it has 9 or 18 holes and whether it is going to be a golf or disc golf course. Then on the bottom of the screen, there are 4 On/Off switches for the yardages you want to setup. Turn them on or off based on which yardages your golf or disc golf course uses. If you don't want to use any yardages, then just turn them all off. Then click 'Next' in the upper right to start entering in the data for each hole. Enter in the par and yardages in the corresponding white boxes. When you get to the last hole, click 'Done' and your new course will be saved.

When creating a new golf or disc golf game, you will be prompted to select from a list of courses that can be used for the game you are trying to setup. So if you are trying to start a new 9 hole game of Disc Golf, only the courses you setup that are set to '9 Holes' and 'Disc Golf' will be displayed in the list. When scoring in golf, enter the score for each person in the corresponding white box and then enter the hole number in the corresponding white box and click 'Submit'. Leaving a score blank for a player will NOT erase their score for that hole. To erase a score for a player, enter a "0" in the white box next to the corresponding player and enter the hole number that you wish to erase their score for, then click 'Submit'.

How To Copy Games
There is a new feature at the bottom of the game detail page (where you setup the players for a game) that allows you to copy a game. When you click this, a new game is created with the same title and the words 'Copy'(so if a game was called 'Test Game', the copied game title would be called 'Test Game Copy'), the same game type, same location, same player names in the same order, and with the scores reset to 0. (the game you are copying will keep the same scores).

Tally
Another new feature is the 'Tally'. It's a small helpful feature that will allow you to see a breakdown of the score. Not all scorecards have this because it doesn't make sense for them all to have it. But Spades for example is one that has it. There will be a button some where on the screen that says 'Tally'. So using Spades as an example, if team 1 gets 40 points the first time and 120 points the next time, while team 2 get 50 points the first time and -10 points the next time, the 'Tally' screen will look like this:
Team 1 Team 2

    40 50
   120 -10
------ ------
   160 40
Then lets say team 1 get -30 points and team 2 gets 20 points, the 'Tally' screen will now look like this:
Team 1 Team 2

    40 50
   120 -10
------ ------
   160 40
   -30 20
------ ------
   130 60

Well...that about covers everything new in version 2.7 of Scorecard Pro. If I wasn't clear about something, don't understand something, or are stuck, as always, send you Comments,Questions, or Suggestions to jjring31@gmail.com. I would greatly appreciate it if you would take the couple minutes it takes to write a review and rate this app in the App Store. I put A LOT of time and effort into this update and it would really mean a lot to me if you did that.
Thanks.
